Laser hair removal delivers targeted energy to hair follicles, damaging them to prevent future growth, without harming surrounding skin. At Janus, Dr. Bandara selects the appropriate laser wavelength for your skin tone (critical for Sri Lankan skin types) to ensure safe, effective treatment. Electrolysis is also available for hormonal facial hair (hirsutism) and for finer or lighter hair types that laser treats less effectively.
How it works
Hair & Skin Assessment
Hair type, density, colour, and skin type are assessed. The appropriate modality (laser or electrolysis) is selected.
Patch Test
A patch test is performed before the first full session to confirm skin response and calibrate settings.
Treatment Session
The laser handpiece or electrolysis probe is applied to the treatment area. Most describe a brief heat or snapping sensation. Sessions range from 15 minutes (upper lip) to 90 minutes (legs).
Repeat Sessions
Multiple sessions are required as laser only affects hair in active growth phase. Sessions are spaced 4–8 weeks apart.

This is not suitable if…

Results & timeline
Each session permanently removes a percentage of active hair follicles. Most clients achieve 70–90% permanent reduction after a full course. A small maintenance session 1–2x per year may be needed.
