The treatment addresses sun spots, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and artificial pigmentation.
How it works
Skin Classification
Fitzpatrick skin type is assessed. Melasma vs. sun damage vs. PIH are distinguished, each responds differently to laser settings.
Patch Test
A patch test may be performed before the first full session to confirm your skin's response to the laser settings.
Laser Treatment
Targeted laser pulses are delivered to pigmented areas. The energy selectively destroys melanin without affecting surrounding skin. Sessions last 20–40 minutes.
Sun Protection Protocol
Strict sun protection (SPF 90+) is mandatory before and after treatment. Sun exposure between sessions compromises results.
Ideal candidates
- Those with sun spots, age spots, or liver spots
- Anyone with melasma (hormonal pigmentation)
- People with post-acne marks or PIH
- Those with tattooed eyebrows, lips, or artificial pigmentation seeking removal
This is not suitable if…
- Tanned skin (laser should not be performed on recently tanned skin)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infection or open skin in treatment area
- Those unable to commit to strict sun avoidance between sessions
Results & timeline
Gradual lightening of spots over 2–4 weeks after each session. Multiple sessions required for melasma. Post-treatment sun protection is essential to prevent recurrence.

Typically 3–6 sessions depending on severity, spaced 4 weeks apart.
